Nucleation has traditionally been used to improve physical properties of polypropylene. Recently it has evolved to offer many more benefits including cycle time reduction, warpage improvements, dimensional control, barrier enhancements and improved aesthetics.Nucleating agent has also been used in producing polyethylene based products.Polypropylene is a semi-crystalline polymer.Nucleating Masterbatches increases the crystallization rate and the overall percent crystallinity of the polymer. The faster crystallization rate allows for higher productivity by reducing the moulding cycle time and extrusion processes.The overall percentage crystallinity of the polymer improves the stiffness and heat deflection temperature.
